SOUND DESIGN CONCEPT-"On the Verge"

Sound Design Concept Proposal

Que List

This is a Sound Design Concept for a short excerpt of the play, 'On the Verge" by Eric Overmeyer. A sound design concept is basically a pitch. This concept includes a written description, or pitch of the concept, a que list of all the sound effect cues corresponding to the screenplay, and a short concept soundscape to reinforce the idea.

SOUNDSCAPES

A Soundscape is a story without words. This one was created utilizing a combination of personally captured field recordings, and Adobe soundbites. every sound you hear is an individual sound bite. A soundscape is designed to take the listener through a story, or scene utilizing only sound, folly, and clever editing. This one is as the title suggests, a morning routine of some John Doe.

MANIPULATION

The manipulation mentioned in this case is an exorcise in blending, and editing seamlessly. The idea is to shorten a long musical piece, while not losing the distinct aspects, and arc. The original, unedited version of this track was over seven minutes long.
